Part of this dreadful experience was my own fault, I knew it was a pub when booking and failed to ask questions like - What are your opening hours? How would you describe your clientele? Do you have live music/discos and if so when and what etc. We arrived late afternoon for a two night stay and left before 11pm the same evening just as a scuffle was breaking out in the rear garden. We were not expecting anything particularly great (regardless of the impression given on their web site) and first impressions lived up to our expectations. Unfortunately it then went down hill.
It became apparent fairly quickly that the venue was pretty much the only pub around and was popular with the local youth of the area.

In fairness the room was big and the toilet/shower room appeared fine on arrival. There is a reasonable amount of drawer space and a wardrobe although as it has no hangers it was of little use. We had a walk around Cranbrook and returned to the room with some... more
