Good location for visiting Canterbury and Rochester. We both loved the hotel for its friendly and warm hospitality whether it was at Reception or at the Spa bar - owner pops up all over the place helping out and making sure everthing is working well. Our executive room was in the old part of the hotel with views over the... more
we've stayed 5 nights in this hotel.on the hotel website there are pictures from the swimmingpool in the garden but no swimming pool was there.there is now a spa building with swimming pool, but the pool is not for children under 16.whe've booked the hotel especialy because there are swimmingpools.nobody has told us that the outside swimmingpoll does not exist... more
We are very sorry that children are not allowed in our spa but it does state quite clearly on our website that we do not permit children under the age of 16 to use the spa facilities. There are no pictures of our old outside pool on our website but some websites who have taken information from us without our...
We had a spa day package at Hemstead House new spa opened earlier this year. The package included a two course lunch which was delicious. We both had a relaxing full body massage and then used the pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. All in all it was well worth the money and we felt totally relaxed. more
We stayed at Hempstead House hotel last April for one night. We were a group of six, my husband, myself, our two children (6 and 8) and my parents. We all enjoyed a very comfortable stay and found the staff to be helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious enough for the four of us, and my parents were more... more
I especially like that the hotel has grown from an 1850s house that the owner first used as a B&B. I have stayed in the new wing of rooms by the conference center, I still prefer the rooms in or near the old house. In the winter, the fires in the old library and parlor on the way to the... more
We stayed in room 18 which according to the site was the best available. It looked better on the site than it was. It seemed a bit old and the floors rickerty. I had to make a quick alteration to the inside of the toilet handle to get it to flush properly! The bed looked very grand but was uncomfortable.... more
We stayed three nights at Hempstead House over Xmas whilst visiting relatives in the area, There's little to invite people to this area but Hempstead House is I'm sure the best (of few) hotels in this area. Rooms are located in either the new wing (close to the Spa) or in the main bulding (which can involve quiet a few... more
We have been off peak members since the Spa opened at the end of October, we had booked advanced membership after seeing literature about it on a visit to the restaurant in the summer. We have found the facilities excellent, the staff are very friendly, the exercise machines being new are all state of the art, we have enjoyed the... more
We ate in the restaurant last night. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was lovely. Not cheap but we all felt it was worth every penny. We will definately be returning! more
