Stayed here for a wedding and were shoved right out the back in a dingy basement room. Breakfast was less than average. Not good value. more

There isn't much choice for hotels in Burnley. So if Burnley is your destination, stay here. I liked this place, it felt secure. Staff were very amusing. friendly and helpful. Fantastic steak, good wine list, and because of the latter I don't really remember the room. Breakfast was very tasty, particularly the sausage. Building is a merchant's house/minor mansion in... more

We held our wedding at the oaks on May 25th 2008, we had 100 guests stay over, some from London, Yorkshire and Wales. Rooms were clean and comfortable, staff professional and kind to everyone (especially the sometimes rowdy children), and as some guests stayed the whole weekend they made a set meal for a really good price of £5 per... more

The check-in was very friendly, but when I got to the room there were 2 open bottles of mineral water. One empty, one with still some water left. The room had obviously not been cleaned well, as these bottles were very easy to spot I can't understand why anybody would leave them there. more

I had my wedding reception in the Oaks Hotel in December last year, we were firstly not informed that a room came as part of the booking, the reception was awful, the food was dry and not co-ordinated, they removed unopened bottles of wine from the table which I had been told would be refunded - they never were and... more

I only stayed here as it was near to a friend's wedding venue and for the price I paid, I expected a bit more. I booked a 4 poster bedroom - nice but too high to see the low TV from (which had hardly any channels). Room was clean but a bit tired and "spooky". As a travel agent I... more

Just returned from 2 nights at the Oaks. I used to pass this hotel daily as a child and always thought it would be truly magnificent inside as it is very grand from the road- well the main hall was impressive but everything else was on a par with most middle of the road chain hotels. My room had some... more

Stayed for two nights in November 2007, found the restaurant very good, staff excellent and the public areas and bedroom that we were in had been newly decorated/refurbished. more

I visited the Oaks Hotel last week, It was ten years since I had last been there and nothing seems to have changed, including the decor. The staff were exceptionally helpful and professional but the hotel just seems so tired. The bed was clean and comfortable but as another reviewer said, the room needed a good clean. It is such... more

Lovely hotel our room was very quiet and the staff were helpful and pleasant. My only complaint was that the room although very nice and very comfortable needed a good clean. Although the beds and bedding were spotless there was thick dust on the skirting boards dado rails window cills and around the edges of the floor. However we had... more
