a very disappointing stay at what once used to be the bees knees around preston, rooms are not what is advertised on the internet, especially room 12 that comes complete with 2 spiders webs and a large spider thrown in for the price, myself and my husband just looked at each other, complained got up graded and then about an... more

My partner and I stayed on advice of friends and had a romance package at Farington Lodge. We've never been there before, so we were really pleasantly suprised that such an upmarket, cosy and friendly hotel of this calibre was hidden among 3 acres of woods and farmland. It was absolutely gorgeous! The hotel was extremely busy, yet not loud... more

Stayed here for 1 night midweek. Thankfully only 1 night. After the disappointments I've had with hotels in the UK recently, I find myself asking "am I expecting too much? Is that the best we can do in our interpretation of hotels?" Its just not good enough. Hoteliers need to give themselves a good hard shake. I know that dealing... more

We stayed here with our three children for two nights using our tesco's vouchers and were pleasantly surprised with the hotel and the service we received. We were upgraded to the new part of the building to two executive rooms, and i have to say the rooms were very spacious with modern decor (Funky feature walls with thick fluffy carpets... more

Stayed at Farington Lodge for a wedding in mid June, Wedding was fabulous but the rooms are very hit and miss. Our room was spacious, great bathroom with lovely selection of bath/shower gels etc. The main problems were light and noise. Most guests had the same problems with lack of natural light in the rooms - especially us ladies who... more

We actually didn’t stay on this occasion, this time it was a Christmas treat for the whole family. We decided that it was time to let someone else do the cooking on Christmas Day, how glad we were that we did and that we chose Farington Lodge. After having been here several times for weddings and Christmas parties we were... more

Do not stay at this hotel if your intention is to sleep when you go to bed and certainly at all costs avoid room 18 which is described as an executive room. This room is situated next door to the office/storeroom which is used overnight by the hotel staff. Apart from the VERY loud conversations and banter from the staff,... more

Stayed as part of wedding group but booked independently. The setting is utterly charming and the staff are cheerful and friendly. We had requested an 'original' room and whilst the proportions were incredibly generous, the amenities were truly dire. This particular room (Garden, no.10) had apparently been subject to water damage and really should not have been offered. The bathroom... more
