Due to be staying there this weekend - thank goodness I called (or tried to) as I have now found it has closed down. It would have been nice to have been told - I now have to find somewhere else to stay at short notice!!

We had a very enjoyable 2 night stay at the Crown in January 2012, and booked again to go this weekend April 14th....just phoned to confirm booking and phone and web-site are disconnected, pub is for sale on Rightmove and having phoned the estate agents....it's closed! We stayed for 2 nights in mid December. The room was spacious, clean and warm. The bar with log fire was perfect and we ate full english breakfasts there both morning which were excellent. we chose this as a place to stay using tripadviser and were not disappointed. Not the easiest to find but turned out to be a good value place to stay. The service was friendly and the food we had was good. We did even find for us that it was almost too much. Rooms were comfortable and clean.

This is an absolute gem, value for money, excellent service, very modern comfortable rooms. The evening meal was superb and not over priced, the breakfast was top quality. Can't praise this place enough - we will definitely be back!!
