Thankfully, this is not a clinical establishment with staff that read from scripts, I found everyone polite and keen to help; the evening meal was fantastic (the tenderest organic steak off the specials menu) and the room tastefully presented with en-suite. Although the Breakfast service was busy it ran smoothly and the food set me up for the day. The... more

Perfect location. Warm welcome... and cosiness all round from the entrance hall with a log fire and the smell of fresh lilies to the well heated hallways ( wonderful on a cold rainy March day) and our inviting room with the door open, lights ablaze and the radiator full on! We especially appreciated the generous Molton Brown goodies, a cafetiere... more

I stayed for a weekend at the Traddock with my mother: I had the hotel's only single room (actually a 'bijou' double which would have been fine for two people for a night), and my mother had Room 4. The beds in both rooms were wonderfully comfortable, with lovely bed linen, towels and toiletries. Yes, the bathrooms are small, but... more

The hotel is situated in a lovely village and has fabulous views over the countryside. Inside, the hotel is welcoming and the public rooms are tastefully and comfortably decorated. The restaurant is excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. We stayed in room10 and, as other reviewers have commented ,the bathroom set up is barely adequate. We would not stay... more

We stayed one Friday night in January when there was a 50% discount on offer and what a bargain. Very friendly welcome, brief tour of all public areas and accompanied to the Penyghent room which was stylish, warm and full of character. Evening meal and breakfast both excellent, staff helpful and attentive without being obsequious. A genuinely memorable stay more

I phoned and got the last room for a 2 night stay with my husband without children. Hotel was lovely, very warm and inviting, lovely log fires, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. We ate in the restaurant on one of the nights and thought the food was great and reasonably priced for the quality, including a very good wine list. Our... more

My husband and I stayed here with our baby daughter for 4 nights (Room 2). It was the most wonderful experience - a lovely hotel, with excellent staff, first class service and superb food - all organic. Although we had the largest room (family room), I peeped into some of the others and they all looked nice. The only tiny... more

We stayed in room 10 which was, as another reviewer said, absolutely fine although would have benefited from a better bathroom set-up. The hotel is very quiet and has a couple of very pleasant lounge areas that are perfect for relaxing after a long walk or perhaps just for pre-dinner drinks while you take a look at the menu. And... more

Had a wonderful few nights stay at the Traddock. Food - exceptional, attention to detail was second to none. Both Bruce and Jane were extremely inviting. Anne is a credit to the hotel and went out of her way to assist us with all our needs. We stayed in Room 7 which has wonderful views. The little touches throughout the... more

We stayed in room 10 on attic floor- very clean & very comfortable bed. Whilst the sink in room & ensuite shower & toilet were perfectly acceptable, a full ensuite with bath would have been preferred.( Rooms with bath are available, but we booked last minute.) High quality food at dinner & breakfast, with excellent selection of well-priced wines. Decor... more
