On arrival at Heather Cottage we were warmly greeted by Angela & Peter with a very welcome cup of tea and superb homemade carrot cake. The biggest surprise of all was being the lucky 500th guests and so qualifying for a free stay, which for us was 2 nights. So yes folks - it's a real deal! The house was... more

Angela and Peter were both very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area. The house and room were both beautiful and decorated to a high standard that suited the period of the property. Homemade cookies in the room with the tea and coffee are a nice treat after you have been out all day and the breakfast was fab,... more

We stayed just one night as a stop-over on route to the Moors. Will return for longer when we can as excellent. A warm welcome with a pot of tea and home made biscuits and then to our room. The house is all fashioned in the arts and crafts victorian style and very tastelly done. A lovely room and big... more

Heather Cottage is right in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in Aysgarth, and is the perfect place to stay to visit this area. A lovingly restored arts and crafts cottage with wonderful detail, our room, the Bainbridge Room, was light and comfortable, and overlooked the classic Edwardian Rock Garden which Angela took great pains to restore. Angela... more

This remarkable Edwardian Gentleman’s Cottage lived up to and exceeded its description as stated on the web. The owners Peter and Angela together with their children certainly do make you feel most welcome and at home. The accommodation is maintained to a very high standard with excellent views across the peaceful Yorkshire Dales. Being our first, but not last, visit... more

We love to see every part of the British “jigsaw” and this time we decided for the Dales. It has been quite adventurous for us to reach the... more

My wife and I stayed at Heather Cottage for the third time this August. On arrival we received a wonderful warm welcome and a cup of tea and homemade cakes in their family kitchen. Heather Cottage has two double ensuite bedrooms which, as on our previous visits, were beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. There is a television and DVD player... more

Having now stayed two times at Heather Cottage we already feel part of the family. Peter and Angela have just two guest rooms, both maintained and decorated to a very high standard in an exceptionally tasteful manner. Perhaps the most endearing feature of this accommodation were our hosts. Peter and Angela (not excluding their young son and daughter) made us... more
