The restaurant and hotel rooms are really lovely and the gardens are beautiful. However we were woken up at 6am by the kitchen staff , this wasn't just general kitchen noise, which would have been bad enough, the staff chatted in really loud voices about total rubbish. There is also some kind of generator that makes a loud banging noise... more

A gem of a place! I booked in for a night's stay with my boyfriend (be advised - book early!) and couldn;t believe how wonderful the place is. A picture perfect village, thatched roofs, michelin star food, fantastic wine selection, wonderful rooms.....etc etc. We're saving up to go back for a week! more

My husband and I have just come back from a wonderful evening at the star inn.We were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. From the minute we stepped through the door we were welcomed by a burning log fire in the middle of the sitting room and a lovely lady who showed us to our room.... more

The Star Inn is so good that I almost don't want to tell you about it. It is difficult enough to get a room and that the last thing we need is for more people to go. The pub itself is beautiful with it's thatched roof and cosy interior, the village is postcard pretty. We were greeted at the corner... more

We live not too far away from the Star, so decided on a Birthday sunday lunch, and gave the accomadation a miss. So I can only comment on the bar, the service, the food and the refurbished/ extended restuarant. First some good things...the new refurbished restaurant, was great, the contrast in style from Pub on the right and restuarant on... more

We stayed at the Star on Saturday 10th January to celebrate my dad's birthday. We stayed in the Farmhouse which is fantastic, the attention to detail is superb. We also had a reservation in the restaurant and both the service and food were WONDERFUL. This place is certainly worth a visit and we will most definitely be going back. more

I have eaten at this restaurant too many times to remember, and on only one occasion have I been disappointed.  The food is definitely worthy of its Michelin rating although recently I have found the menu to be less varied than I have become accustomed to, perhaps owing to the refurbishment and smaller kitchen??   The staff are always welcoming and... more
