We stayed here for one night only but what a great find! Front desk staff were pleasant, caring and efficient. Restaurant staff were equally good. The rooms were first class - spacious with all the usual extras including tea- and coffee-making facilities, biscuits, bottled water. Everything was well-maintained although the showers could be better. Ours had four-poster beds, good ones... more

A superb hotel in a great location. Staff really good, food and service in The Silk brasserie absolutely wonderful. Some refurbishment due in the main building but this does not detract from a really great place to stay. Absolutely love it. more

I was booked into this hotel by my employer for a business trip. It was lovely, a really nice building traditionally decorated. My room was very big which makes a nice change from the box rooms often offered in business hotels. The furnishings were quite dated but it was clean and very comfortable. I was on a dinner bed and... more

This is a lovely old hall set in open grounds, ideal for weddings, which was the purpose of our stay. The reception rooms were 'ye olde' , which is what you would expect from an old building. Practically all the stairs and landings leading up to the rooms creaked like mad. The room we stayed in was big, but a... more

Superb hotel and really friendly staff. I arrived late as they were just about to take the last orders in the restaurant and they gladly served me in a pleasant manner. This old house has been refurbished and is very acceptable with high ceilings and spacious rooms. Just one minor glitch, It is not far from RAF Leeming and when... more

I note that this Hotel hasn't been reviewed for a year. In that time, I understand it has been taken over. I stayed here 3 years ago and would then have agreed with most of the complimentary reviews. I wouldn't now. The room was adequate, but the defective powerpoint remained so throughout my stay. Evening meal is now served in... more

We returned to Northallerton for a visit after 30 years in Australia and could not have had a better re-introduction than the one night we stayed at Solberge Hall. We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly, the rooms were spacious and immaculate, the dinner was excellent and the countryside surrounding the hotel was beautiful. We have stayed... more

I've stayed at Solberge Hall Hotel a couple of times this year on business and both times I could not fault it in any way. Yes, the hotel may be located away from a town (between Northallerton and Topcliffe) but the taxi fare from the train station is very reasonable (£7). The second time I stayed I arrived well before... more

This hotel provides value in the sense that my party enjoyed a very cheap rate. The food was miserable, the rooms and decor were tired and the staff were not exactly helpful. There are better places to stay in the area. more

The Solberge Hall Hotel, Newby Wiske, Northallerton is a lovely Hotel set in its own grounds in the middle of no where. I had my wedding reception there in April of this year and the location, service, food was excellent. The good thing about Solberge is that it only has 24 bedrooms (3 four posters and 1/2 Tester Suite) and... more
