The first thing you notice about The Punch Bowl – should you approach ‘blind’ guided by sat nav – is that the inn is nowhere near Richmond itself. In fact it's nearly 15 miles away. This is undoubtedly a good thing, because, nice as Richmond is, the hamlet of Low Row blows it out of the water. The rugged views... more

Just returned from a very comfortable, one night stay at The Punch Bowl Inn. The Inn has been sympathetically restored, with a good bar area (with a good choice of cask ales) and separate dining room (although you can eat in the bar too). We were in Room 1 on the first floor. This room was spacious (and spotlessly clean),... more

A gem with real character - excellent food, great welcome and stylish rooms. Nice touches like mouton & brown toiletries, quality furniture and a relaxed atmosphere - highly recomended, as is sister hotel the CB Inn, where we used to stay just up the road. more

My husband and I stayed for two nights, along with another couple who were friends of ours. We were very impressed with the decor. Food was generally good depending on what you chose. Breakfast was lovely. Our only problem was when we arrived, a very pleasant young lady attended to us at the bar and everything was fine until the... more

We have just stayed on a 2 night Christmas special dinner b&b at £120 for a last minute booking for my birthday. The location and views are spectacular and we were in room 7 on the 2nd floor which had a bath (as we requested) with a shower attachment but no shower curtain but good for hair washing and the... more

Just had the most fab weekend with friends at the Punch Bowl. A delightful country inn, extremely welcoming and friendly. Lovely to have all the character of a country pub but also the luxury of a more upmarket hotel. The bedrooms are beautiful, spotlessly clean and spacious with very high quality towels and toiletries. The food in the restaurant both nights... more

We stayed at the Punch Bowl for three nights with the kids. Rooms are fine, clean, comfortable and with great views. Breakfasts are very good, serve yourself fruit, juice, flakes etc. Cooked breakfast is made to order so fresh and hot. We ate there one night and it was well above average for a pub/inn. The only problem was the... more

what a wonderful place to stay, views of swaledale, good food and new, modern rooms. Only just reopened at xmas after a major rebuild and modernisation. Our room was a 4 poster, large with an excellent bathroom. The only downside being it was above the bar, and rather noisy until 11.30ish. The food at dinner was excellent and not over... more

We spent two nights at the Punch Bowl Inn ,Low Row, over the May bank holiday. It has recently been closed for total renovation. We had a very nice room on the first floor, not large but more than adequate for a short stay. En-suite shower room was excellent. Lovely views from the room. The food was generally good -... more

I have stayed at this pub/hotel on numerous accassions and I keep being drawn back there, not because of the immaculate rooms (they are functional and "countryside clean"), not for any the organised hospitality or "entertainment", but because of the sheer relaxing pleasure of being in the heart of some of England's most spectacular and awe-inspiring countryside, where you are... more
