I booked Nun's Cottage as a birthday present for my husband. On my part it was a random 'let's see where we can go' suprise. The cottage is beautiful. It is a small, but luxurious guest house, restored by people who really care about about how it should look and feel - it's clearly a labour of love. The owners are friendly but not intrusive and the breakfast was wonderful. They have a small library and books are available in the bedrooms. Nun's Cottage is a place that's clearly loved by its owners. We stayed there in winter, where there was little else to do but snuggle down and enjoy the hospitality, and we revelled in it. If you are looking for a lovely, quirky place, and want to spend time relaxing, reconnecting and romancing then it's the perfect getaway. Richmond itself is fairly quaint, though not enough to hold the attentions of a tourist for much more than an afternoon.
