Arriving on a dark night though winding country lanes we had to stop in the local pub for directions. As it happens, Manor Farm is in the middle of the village (Farthingstone) but the sign was not easy to see so we had driven right past it.
First sight of the house was welcoming with lights in every window and our hostess at the door to greet us as we drove up. We stayed in the red room which was fitted with a luxury shower and a very comfortable (and very large bed). The room, and indeed the whole house, has been sympathetically renovated, with period features carefully restored, and stylishly decorated.
We chose a full English breakfast which was excellent and very filling, although the continental breakfast chosen by one of the other 2 guests sharing the large communal breakfast table looked equally good.
