loads of improvements have been made to this beautiful old building but it has not changed the welcoming atmosphere of the hosts or the regular customers food was very tasty and traditional we had taken a friend with us because it was a fundraising night for Help for Heroes which was amazing good fun would go again.

Myself and 3 other mates stayed here on the second day of our Coast to Coast cycle ride, it was a welcome sight after the second day in the saddle and after going through freezing tempretures for 7 hours! It is a traditional village pub, really cosy, clean, log fires to thaw you out, a good choice of real ales... More

Situated amongst some of the most beautiful countryside in the country, The Allenheads Inn is a very nice place to base yourself. Good food and excellent company, basically exactly what you would expect from a village pub. During the summer lots of cyclist stop here as the pub is on the coast to coast cycle route. Always a good selection... More

My Friends and I stayed at this Inn in July'12 when we were on our second leg of the C2C. I had emailed Ann about a dietary (Vegan) requirement the my husband and I have and she was brilliant, she took a lot of time, effort and research for us. We found her to be a very warm and friendly... More

We visited this pub in August 2012 whilst doing the C2C with 2 American visitors. We had communicated via email to forewarn the Landlady our vegan diet. The response we got was amazingly positive - we were emailed a fabulous menu. On arrival, we found that the food surpassed our expectations. I can't remember everything we had now, but the... More

My family of five had an evening meal at the Allensheads Inn on 25th October 2012 whilst on the c2c route. The evening weather was cold and wet. The Inn was warm and welcoming as were the Hosts and the few locals that were having a drink and a chat. We were presented with a good menu choice which were... More

We stayed in early September on the C2C cycle ride. Room was adequate, but the hospitality and food made up for what it lacked. Good food at good prices. Helpful and friendly staff. Very good breakfast. Nothing too much trouble. Quaint place - dining room with stuffed animals and birds. Would certainly satisfy cyclists after a hard day in the... More

We stayed at The Allenheads Inn in early September 12, doing the C2C on bikes with 2 dads and 2 sons. The rooms are OK - clean and comfortable, the restaurant food was very good and reasonably priced and the breakfast was excellent. we stayed on Sunday night so it was a bit quiet but the locals were more than...
