A 5 star B&B of distinction. Quiet location just 15-20 mins walk from the centre of Alnwick. Room was super & every little touch was appreciated from Coffee & Cake on arrival to the recommendations for resteraunts on an evening. After reading the reviews on West Acre House we knew we were in for a treat. Welcomed by Jeanette with a pot of tea and cake was lovely after a long journey. A beautiful house with rooms and service to match. We would happily return to Bruce & Jeanette if we go to the Alnwick area again. The rooms are spacious, very comfortably furnished with everything you could possibly want, including sherry, nibbles, fruit and an excellent breakfast. Bruce and Jeanette are the perfect hosts. Not intrusive, but totally welcoming. Stayed here for two nights and it just wasn't long enough. Lovely house, very clean and spacious rooms, excellent breakfasts (and we tried them all!) and very friendly, helpful hosts. It's the perfect base for exploring the very beautiful Northumberland. I'd happily stay here again. more
