Have just returned from a 3 night stay at this excellent 24 bed room hotel. The bedroom was very well furnished my wife and I had a king size double bed. The room was very comfortable clean and the decor was of a very good standing. There was always plenty of warm water for showers and baths. We stayed bed,breakfast... more

Having just returned from a 4 day break with a very good friend in the Hayloft Suite, we would both like to say thank you for a fantastic stay - lovely people, excellent service and really good food. The hotel has a wonderful friendly atmosphere and the accommodation was excellent. The suite was located opposite the Hotel itself complete with... more

We are just back from a two night bed and breakfast stay. This hotel has an old fashioned air and is decorated to suit the age of the building. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, the room we had was of a good size for such an old building, with thick walls, there was no noise from adjacent rooms. There was a... more

We stayed here for a week at the begining of May - this is a lovely, friendly, family run hotel where you feel at home and can relax. It is perfect if you like a quiet, peaceful location that doesn't feel touristy. Our 'standard' room was quite big, although the bathroom was a bit small. Everything was clean and there... more

I was due to visit Northumberland on business and booked a four night stay at the Dunstanburgh Castle hotel due mainly to its good reviews. The reviews proved to be correct. The Dunstanburgh Castle Hotel is everything you would expect of a quality country hotel. The staff were all polite and efficient the hotel was very clean and the food... more

This is an older property and this is reflected in the creaky floorboards, evidence of damp here and there, steep, narrow staircases (no lift) and varied room shapes/sizes. Decoration and soft furnishings are clean and generally fresh if a bit dated. Heating is by electric convectors and these are apparently on a timer. Room was cold on arrival, slow to... more

We'd like to address a number of points made in this review, as we think it's quite misleading. All our hotel rooms are located on the first floor (hence no lift) accessed by two staircases. The main one is a wide Victorian staircase, neither steep nor narrow - we do have a second staircase that is fairly steep, but it's...

I'm almost reluctant to write this review because i want to keep it a secret!! This is the third time we have stayed here and it won't be the last! From beginning to end this hotel provides a friendly, warm and personal welcome. We chose pay an extra £10pp and stay in a barn suite - gorgeous converted barns which... more

This hotel is an ideal base for touring the Northumberland coast with the Cheviots and National Park also within striking distance. The small village of Embleton is only 10 minutes walk from the wonderful sweeping sands of Embleton Bay with Dunstanburgh Castle standing proud in the distance(about 1 mile walk over the dunes). After booking in the guy on reception... more
