Market Cross is a traditional house in the small village of Belford. The building is old (I guessing well over one hundred years old) which adds lots of character, but it is beautifully maintained and the bed rooms are quite luxurious. The attention to detail is evident through out from the super soft mattresses, the good sizes flat screen TV'S... More

Jill & John friendly and welcoming. Nothing was a bother. Lots of little unexpected extras. Breakfasts beyond excellent! Hosts knowledge of the area first class. Good advice given for places to visit and for dining out. We'll certainly be back. More

Our stay was to celebrate a birthday. The hospitality exceeded expectation and was everything we could have hoped for, making it a very enjoyable stay. The breakfast menu was exceptional... the local smoked kippers a must. Impressive locally sourced produce on offer . The hosts have a good knowledge of the area and lots of recommendations for local eating places... More

Stayed here over New Year. Jill and John were very welcoming hosts and had thought of lots of little extra touches. We enjoyed fantastic walks along the coast and brought in the New Year watching the fireworks in the centre of the village while Jill plied us with sparkling wine. My teenage sons were very impressed with the quality and... More

I cannot rate this highly enough. There was an amazing attention to every detail, even down to the linen napkins at breakfast and the complimentary Lindisfarne mead. I recommend the breakfast pancakes and accepting the lift to the nearby restaurant Black Swan. More

We stayed here in March & really enjoyed it, ok Belford itself is a tiny village/town with 2 or 3 pubs, a co-op & not a great deal else,( it's a fine base for discovering the surrounding area) however, our accommodation was great.......lovely room & bathroom, thoroughly enjoyed our hot bath after a days walking. Comfortable bed, lovely breakfast &... More

Without a doubt this is truly the best guest house I have ever stayed in!! My husband and I spent 7 nights in the Tartan Room. It was very stylishly decorated with a large and comfortable zip and link King sized bed, huge bathroom with both a shower and a tub (wonderful for a nice hot bath), and loads of... More

I cant say enough about our fantastic stay at the Market Cross. our yellow room was like a celestial retreat with gold furnishings and a beautiful view onto the garden and landscape. The guest living room was a stylish home from home and we were made so welcome. It took us forever to decide on our breakfast choice which was... More

From the minute we arrived until the moment we left we could neither fault or criticise a single aspect of this Guest House or our Hosts. We stayed in the Tartan room which was immaculately decorated and spotlessly clean (thanks Zoe) there were treats and little extras everywhere we looked. The breakfast was an amazing experience and nothing was too... More
