Ewart House, Main St. Whitsome near Duns & Swinton area. I enjoyed 2 nights in this lovely, quiet, home & would gladly stay here again. The spacious twin-bedded room is upstairs; a private entrance; a large private bath across the hall, spotless, warm, well supplied. The usual tv, video, tea provisions, 2 comfy chairs & bedside reading lights, not that common. Gracious hosts willing to chat or honor your privacy; both knowledgable of area. My food was most pleasing & healthy! A great base to explore area. Garden in back; rural walks, easy drive to numerous interesting sights, like Wedderburn Castle, Manderston House & Paxton House, the coast, Holy Island or Northumberland. If you're looking for night life or excitement pass this lovely home. more
