This hotel is easily, by a long mile, the worst hotel I have every had the misfortune to stay in. Wooden boards cover smashed windows, old CRT televisions that wouldn't look out of place in a skip grace the rooms, and the carpets are cleaner that the bed sheets. The smell of stale smoke was so nauseating that I elected... More

Avoid like the plague ,dirty rundown entrance in an ally way which looks like a muggers paradise as there is a pub and night club in the same ally .You can hear the music from the club so after an 8 hour drive we was not impressed as we had to be at a wedding the next day and didnt... More

The owners should be ashamed. Being quite cheap does not excuse the dreadful state of the bedrooms and bathrooms or the dirty, dilapidated public areas and access. Staff are very pleasant - we felt sorry for them. We will have to go to the area quite often in future but we'd never stay there again unless they undertake complete renovation.

The hotel looks as though it was a lovely place to stay a long time ago. Before the rot set in it would have been handy to stay here. It's only the staff in reception and serving breakfast who score a plus, everything else is a minus. No bar, mould everywhere, decor shabby - even down to only one bedside... More

We needed accommodation for a couple of nights in Morpeth. The review weren't that good but we are easy to please and had other reasons to visit lovely Northumberland. Parking was no problem - car park, fairly secure at rear of hotel. Location is great - right in the centre of the town near to the Town Hall. There is... More

My husband booked a room in this hotel for the next night and unfortunatey he was taken ill within two hours of this booking. On trying to cancel the booking we were told that we could not have a refund and that we must pay the full amount as it is their policy within 24 hours cancellation. However I pointed... More

Booked in for GNR wasn't expecting much upon reviews here and sadly they were not wrong. Location is fantastic opposite shops and restaurants etc staff polite and helpful. Room very basic bathroom poor with mouldy curtain and peeling paint. Worse than this..as I got into bed the cover (which looked about twenty years old) was stained with yellow marks and... More

Sad, dirty and smelly. Staff really tried, but this place needs closing. Hotel is badly delapidated and dirty. Smells of old cigarettes and beer. Entrance through a pub smoking area. Furnishings tattered, dark dingy and dated. One bed in twin bedded room broken, both had lumpy uncomfortable mattresses which we didn't dare examine in detail. Hair found in crockery, bath... More
