Our two day stay was fine in terms of cleanliness and friendliness of staff (especially waiting staff) but, in terms of meeting the exacting standards for the award of five stars, the Pheasant Inn fell short. On the plus side, it was a refreshing delight to find a breakfast which was devoid of baked beans, hash browns and fried bread... more

All I can do is to echo what has been said before. We were lucky enough to get a late cancellation and added a one night stay at the Pheasant to the end of our holiday. An amazing location, lovely people, a really good mattress on the bed, 35 different whiskeys and the best lamb I've ever eaten. The perfect... more

Our fourth time and we've booked for New Year. If that isn't a good recommendation then let me give you an insight in to one of the "Jewels in the crown of Kielder" when it comes to traditional ales and superb food. Quaint, quiet and very homely with a good Olde English style pub atmosphere is the best way to... more

Everything about the Pheasant Inn is splendid. The setting is beautiful and peaceful. The pub has all you'd want of a traditional inn...great beer , fine malt whiskys and the wine we had was the house selected which was excellent. An open fire, beams ,interesting artifacts and old photos of the inn. The food was heavenly. As mentioned in other reviews... more

My wife and I stayed here overnight to break our journey back from Scotland at the end of our holidays, and it proved to be a great choice of venue. The room was comfortable and very clean, and had all the usual facilities. The lounge bar was very cosy and we had a lovely meal. In fact, the starter and... more

Not your average pub lodging. Most of the rooms are in a purpose-built two-storey block to the side of the pub, so there's no noise from drinkers (not that it's a big drinkers' pub in any case). Our room was not huge but made good use of the space available; the décor was spotless and the carpet looked new. The... more

Stayed here with my boyfriend for a weekend in January. I think we were the only couple staying but there were a few people in eating and drinking. A lovely log fire greeted us and friendly staff. After good beer and far better than expected food (very good, filling and tasty) we were very pleased to go to pur clean,... more

Love it here. Warm welcome, log fires, food is excellent, but nothing too fancy (and that's a compliment by the way). My great grand-father used to drink here - apparently - obviously he's not around to ask - but he farmed nearby. Comfortable beds, shower with lots of pressure, spotless and beautiful surroundings. Go and see "Skyspace" in Kielder, one... more
