Having read reviews on Trip Advisor we were slightly nervous on what to expect when we arrived. Being critical, the decor isn't to our tastes, it being "chintzy" and slightly tired in our room and yes there are dolls a plenty. Another slight downside was the lack of a shower in our room - for £185 per night I would... more

We stayed at the Waren House for three nights over the long bank holiday weekend. Waren Mill is a small hamlet ideally situated for exploring the northeast coastal area and this hotel makes a comfortable base of operation for several days' touring. We particularly liked the hotel for its delicious meals (and its willingness to serve breakfast earlier than usual)... more

The highlight has to be the restaurant. The food is quite simply amazing, wine selection great. The produce is local, menu is simple, and food fantastic. Its worth heading here just for the restaurant. The only thing that detracts from the atmosphere is the noise coming from the kitchen. We stayed in the Gray suite, huge room, four poster bed,... more

During Nov. '08 we discovered a little gem of an hotel to which we look forward to returning. The warmth of the reception by the attentive staff was matched by the warming of the log fire in front of which we enjoyed canapes and drinks. Following this timeless welcome we took our place in the dining room to be served... more

In many respects this could be a very good hotel. Location is great just across from Lindisfarne and with many other places of historical interest close by. Food and staff are lovely and the chef and his team obviously try hard and succeed. The building and gardens are in good order and housekeping to a good standard. We had two... more

The location is great, only 2 miles from Bamburgh Castle. The food was wonderful and the staff were very friendly. Our room was very large and comfortable though needed updating. However the first thing that strikes you as you walk into the hotel is that the decor is very very unusual. Dolls, dolls and more dolls. It all felt creepy... more

Selected Waren House based on its location which is excellent and booked the Parador Suite as part of our honeymoon break. On the plus side the food was very good and the service was courteous. However, we found the lack of basic facilities surprising given the full price that was being charged (no shower or shower attachment in the bathroom)... more

I changed our booking to this hotel fairly last minute having read really bad reviews by Trip Advisor members of the one I had originally booked with .... at the cost of my deposit ! My heart sank when I entered the foyer. It was packed full of dolls, soft toys and goodness knows what. Someone's fantasy gone mad. The... more

My partner and I decided to do something different, rather than the normal city centre hotels we stop at. We stopped in their most expensive room (Gray Suite) but at £153 per night it's not really what we expected. The room was very big (almost like a small flat) with seperate living room and bathroom but not worth the price... more

We visited Waren House Hotel during Easter 2006 - and I loved it!! You do have to go with a slightly open mind and be prepared for slightly alternative decor - but I think that is what makes it the place it is. I agree the dolls are slightly scary but I think you have to look on it as... more
