Wooler is in the middle of nowhere, and that place is even further... just walk out, and you have excellent walks inside the Norththumberland National Park, with a great variety of landscapes from misty forests to narrow valleys and open fields. You can also easily drive to all the castles around. Breakfast will start with the best yahourt, compote and honey ever tasted. You can also order the dinner, ours was a Basque chicken and rice and those were fabulously tasty.
It is a working farm however, and they are not the most tidy hosts. Decoration is very old-fashioned, the main room is not ensuite (you have a dedicated bathroom and toilet but must walk across the hall). The bathroom is amazing however: right from previous century, and very comfortable. I say that to avoid surprises to some guests who might expect modern facilities and who are of upmarket taste. But the price is reasonable (I paid GBP 70 couple), and the experience warrant the effort.
