my wife and I stayed 1 night in May 2013. Things got off to a bad start when the room TV did not work but we were quickly moved to another room. Breakfast full English double eggs bacon sausages and heaps of toast too was included for the price of £55 for us both.Excellent value all round and very cheap... More

Me and my partner stayed at the Red Lion on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th April. We were greeted instantly by the staff when we walked in who gladly showed us to our room before welcoming us down to a drink! The room we were in was beautiful!! The decor was lovely - fairy lights were decorated around the room,... More

Me and my friends were stopping at Chillingham for the weekend. We thought we would have a drive into Wooler for a bar meal on the Saturday. The Red Lion looked like a good choice. We walked in and were not greeted by any staff. As we sat down some of us went to the bar to get drinks we... More

Despite the difficult circumstances Mark and his team made our stay very special. The rooms were to a very high standard with attention to detail. The staff adapted well to our need to leave early and the beakfast was superb and tailored to our needs. Memorable stay and highly recommended. I think that if there is to be a future... More

Never written a review before but I was totally charmed by this place. I was travelling through for business and really just wanted a bed for night, I got so much more. On arrival I was taken to a beautiful room with a luxurious roll top en-suite, the manager was ever so helpful, even cooked me a meal. I was... More

Our party of four spent a night here while walking the St Cuthbert's Way. External impressions of the building were good but the interior felt shabby although the copious use of dead ivy lit with fairy lights was a novelty. When shown to our rooms we were pleasantly surprised the rooms being well appointed including more of the aforesaid ivy.... More

My partner and I visited this hotel for the first time. We had booked a meal nearby and arrived in plenty of time on a cold snowy night. As soon as I entered the premises it was nice to be in an establishment that actually felt warm and cosey. Something that seems rare these days in pubs/restaurants, maybe due to... More

I stayed here over a holiday weekend. Having heard concerns over parking i did not find this a problem and bar arrival got parked outside during the stay. The hotel is in the centre of Wooler on the high street . On arrival we were unsure where to go .There was no reception or anyone in the bar so we... More

The rooms are lovely and I would class as boutique, however the service in the bar/pub although not rude could have been improved upon. Also be warned if you are taking a dog the nearest area to walk them is a short drive away.
