This lovely B&B is right on Wooler high street. We stayed for one night in a king size room with en suite. Room was large and clean and comfortable and had a small seating area. No traffic noise despite being at the front of the property. Good, hearty breakfast with lots of choice. Host was very friendly. Large lounge also... More

Very welcoming and friendly, Julia couldn't do enough for us. Room was really comfortable and warm. Breakfast was excellent too. Would definitely recommend to walkers as Julia was not phased by muddy boots and happily took them away to dry off. Julia recommended the nearby Italian restaurant for dinner and it was really good. The best place we stayed in... More

Julia allocated us the cottage attached to her B & B which was spacious with a separate lounge so we could spread out and dry our walking gear. It is in a great position on Wooler High Street but as the bedroom is towards the rear there was no traffic noise. However, as this is an old cottage with low... More

I have been in contact with Winston to thank him for bringing this issue to my notice. This room is the only ground floor bedroom I have in my Bed & Breakfast and it is in the oldest section of the house hence its lower ceiling. All of my other bedrooms are on the first floor in the main house... More

Our second stay at Tilldale House, this time three nights - we wish it could have been more! Julia is the perfect host - very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the breakfasts were excellent. We are not 'serious' walkers but enjoyed a few of the many superb scenic walks in the... More

Julia is a friendly and well-organised landlady. After a tough day walking St Cuthbert's Way, we were warmly welcomed and showed to a comfortable bedroom. We took Julia's advice to dine at the local Italian restaurant, which provided a pleasant change from pub food. Having given due warning the night before, I was able to enjoy smoked haddock and poached... More

Tilldale House was a delightful surprise on the St Cuthbert's Way. Each of our party had beautifuly appointed rooms with the bonus of a beautiful communal lounge. Beds were very comfortable, rooms were clean and breakfast was plentiful, tasty and nicely presented. Our hostess, Julia, was interesting and very helpful. I can't remember where we stayed every night on "The... More

After a tough day's walking on St Cuthbert's Way we couldn't have had a warmer welcome and a great night's sleep in those beautiful rooms; tastefully appointed with everything one needs. A superb breakfast set us all up for the last push (17 miles) to Holy Island. Thank you, Julia ! The MacDonald Party

Tilldale House is ideally situated in Wooler High Street close to St Cuthbert's Way and with all the amenities offered by a small town. From the outset, Julia gave us a very friendly welcome and set the scene to help make our stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. The bedroom and bathroom were tastefully furnished and well-equipped, as were... More

We were wet when we hiked into Wooler. Julia reassured us that we were not the first wet hikers she had encountered. She dried out our clothes and made us comfortable. The room was beautiful and the town was pleasant. We enjoyed our visit very much.
