I seldom get to stay at hotels that have both friendly happy staff and great facilities. I stayed at Abindon when attending a conference and found the rooms a good size, comfortable and clean. The restaurant has good food and great service. Conference facilities was perfect for our event. Will definatly be booking here again. more

I recently stayed at the Abingdon Four Pillars Hotel whilst on business in the area and having read the previous reviews on this site I was concerned before going but I am pleased to say I found it to be much better than expected. My bedroom was a good size and very clean and both the Club Sandwich for dinner... more

I have lived in Abingdon for more than 20 years and have occasionly found myself here for various events. I am not a critical guest generally, but this place always fails to impress me. It is such a bad reflection on the town. The service is poor. Probably more as a result of management than anything else, nobody looks happy... more

Eight of us stayed here for three nights so that we could play golf at the nearby Frilford Heath Golf Club. Having read the Trip Advisor reviews i was a little hesitant but found the stay absolutely fine with some exceptions. The room was a good size, clean and fully equipped for my needs. The decoration was just beginning to... more

I stayed at the Abingdon Four Pillars on business, so the bill was being paid by my company which usually inclines me to being more generous towards a hotel. Unfortunately I can't be generous towards the Abingdon Four Pillars. The staff was singularly unhelpful (when asked directions the answer was "I don't know, I just moved here" with no offer... more

Have recently returned from this hotel. We booked via the hotel website and got exactly what we had asked for. The room was spacious and quite modern . Everything was in working order and clean. We had a good night's sleep despite a wedding disco being in progress. The breakfast was good and the rates of stay excellent. We would... more

Despite the photos on its website, let's face it, the Abingdon Four Pillars is a motel, along the lines of a Day's Inn. It's clean, well lit, and the staff are pleasant -- but there is no elevator, the rooms are tiny and spartan, there are about four items on the room service menu, and no fitness facilities. Also, there... more

We had the misfortune to stay in this hotel recently during a business trip. When we arrived, the initial appearance looked good - DON'T LET THIS FOOL YOU!!! When we got to our room, I decided to have a bath before having dinner. I was disgusted to have to actually wipe the bath area down first though, as it looked... more

Due to the impending old age of one of my sisters, we all decided to meet somewhere central. We have visited two of the sister hotels previously and enjoyed our stays. We looked on the internet and found a weekend for £70 per person bed, breakfast and evening meal together with entertainment. The rooms were spacious and clean and the... more

Stayed here for three nights with work. It's not bad, just not all that great. I agree with the earlier comment about the rooms smelling musty, I also found my room to be rather dark. The towels in the bathroom were rubbish and the shower pressure was a bit ropey. Also it seemed a bit random as to which items... more
