We visited this pub due to its closeness to Faringdon and Buscot Park which we planned to visit later. The weather was good enough for an outside meal and so we had lunch there. The staff were helpful and service was fine. They were happy to carry out our small extra requests. The food was also OK and good portions.... More

Just got back from a 3 night stay at the Horse & Jockey, enjoyed it so much thought it was important to share my thoughts with others considering where to stay - near Oxford. This Inn is run by very friendly owners. The pub is full of character and is run very well. Not only is the menu varied and... More

I've eaten and stayed at the Horse and Jockey on three separate occasions and will certainly be returning. Whether sitting in the garden enjoying homemade ice-cream in the summer or warming up by the fire in the winter, this pub has never failed to disappoint. Wooden beams, great real ale and friendly staff - the place has bags of personality... More

The Horse & Jockey is a village pub with rooms and a restaurant. The rooms and comfortable and are good value for money at £50.00 The restaurant menu could have had a better selection, but what was ordered was of a good quality when served. Good value for money would be the reference for this establishment.

My husband and I stayed here for one night. We stayed here based on location as we were visiting family. Upon arrival we waited at the bar for a while before being acknowledged. The size of the room was okay for one night it was warm enough, however the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in... More

We had visited Highclere (being great fans of Downton Abbey) and stumbled across the Horse and Jockey en route home to the Cotswolds. What a lovely surprise this pub was.......local drinking in the bar and the most beautifully presented food with a smile......couldn't believe our luck and we will certainly be telling all our friends that when in this area... My wife and I reserved a table for 7-30pm and were advised that this meal would be served in the restaurant. We were not hotel guests just using the restaurant for dinner. We duly arrived and were greeted upon arrival at the bar which had great old world charm and was quite busy which is probably why we were told... More

We came for Sunday lunch. Received a warm welcome and help for me as a disabled customer. The food was well cooked, rapidly served. Good choice, of mains and yummy desserts - even fresh fruit was served for one of our party. All very reasonably priced. We will be returning.

Our daughter and her family have recently moved house to Stanford in the Vale. We visited them whilst they were completing their unpacking, hence our stay in the Horse & Jockey. Being a Northener my Impressions of Southeners was, life too fast no time to talk. This cannot be said of Stanford & the Horse and Jockey. No-one including us... More
