The web site for this chinese-run establishment boasts of superbly appointed rooms. Nothing could be further from the truth!

The furniture in our en-suite 4 poster room was basic, old and shabby, there was no heat from the centrally heated radiator and the electric wall mounted heater, apart from coming away from the wall, didn't work either! The bathroom was dark and dingy, with several very loose floorboards. The only shower consisted of a tap mixer arrangement and the water was only warm at best. To add to this, the carpets were worn and filthy dirty. The whole place needs a fortune spending to bring it up to standard.

The hotel is well known for it's award winning chinese cuisine, but they also offer english dishes. Unfortunately, my requested medium steak arrived completely raw in the middle and had to be sent back. However, the staff were fine about this and the next one was ok. our drinks were free to compensate for this.
