We stayed at the Pen y Bont hotel for one night in April. The proprieters Angela and Brian are very friendly, warm and welcoming. The views across the lake are magnificent and the base of Cadir Idris is only a stone throw away. Brian and Angela were a wealth of local information and advised and gave directions (even hand drawing... More

I just keep coming back to this place! The owners, Brian and Angela, are so friendly and the atmosphere is really welcoming. If you like hill climbing, it is in a great spot with lots of circular walks, and you can get to the base of Cadir Idris in 35 mins by foot. It has to be the most beautiful... More

I've stayed here for one week and found the owners very welcoming. They can not do enough for you. Along with the staff. They all really make you feel as if your part of their family. Breakfast is full English however cereal is available of preferred. no mobile signal and no tv which is fantastic. Who wants to watch telly... More

We went her to find an ice-cream sundae for our 5 and 8-year old boys who had been promised a treat for climbing all the way to Llyn cau on Cadair Idris. It started well with the bar staff agreeing to "dress up" their normal 3-scoop ice-cream dessert with some whipped cream and sauce. We sat in the rather attractive... More

Last time we went in for a drink it smelled musty and damp and there was an air of " what are you doing here, where are you from" not very friendly at all.We had a meal which to be fair was quite good but expensive, the beer was not good it tasted as though the pipes had not been cleaned... More

This is a bed & breakfast grossly overpriced. We stayed for two nights, the bedroom was a little damp with cobwebs. The bed was too soft. There was no shower gel or shampoo and the room wasn't made up on the second day. This meant we didn't have clean or dry towels. There was no hairdryer either, luckily a friend... More

This is arguably one of the best spots in Wales. The Tal-y-llyn lake is idyllic, peaceful and magical. Perfect for romantic getaway. There is no mobile signal, TV, street lights or Wifi and that is all a bonus. For you are alone with the beautiful countryside and this makes for a very relaxing break away from it all. The owners,... More
