The hotel looked somewhat tired from the outside and dated at reception, but our ground floor 'dog' room was surprisingly pleasant, spotless, with no odours from previous 'guests', great views, good facilities, and plenty of space for our dog. The location is superb for hikers, dog walking or just admiring the beautiful scenery. Breakfast was very good though we received... more

I had booked a double and single room for Sat 27th Sept and had paid a £75 deposit on my credit card. I confirmed all details last Wednesday and was advised to book a table for the evening meal as the hotel only had 7 tables for service and this I did. I was travelling from the midlnds and two... more

We have owned and run Minffordd Hotel very successfully for over 8 years now with very few complaints, We see it as rather strange how people will not complain or inform us of any problems during their stay, were maybe we could put things right, but they will online afterwards.........., anyhow with regards to this review, this is the first...

We stayed here for two nights while touring West Wales. Don't think previous reviews have captured the delights of the Minffordd Hotel. There really is a sense of staying in an old coaching inn - the building seems to creak with history through the various reception rooms of its Tardis-like interior. We found the ambience cosy and relaxed while Gordon... more

Our room was of a very high standard, with little extra's which made all the difference e.g. a bar of hand made chocolate and a... more

We have just returned from a weekend break at this hotel, it wasn't quite what I expected for the price. I think this is a B&B in the disguise of a hotel. We stayed in a lovely B&B just minutes along the road in May this year for £15 less per person per night, which seems to be the average... more

Potential visitors to this hotel should be aware of the potential danger. Last year our one-year-old Miniature Schnauzer was savagely attacked by two dogs from this hotel, one belonging to the owners Mr and Mrs Holt and the other belonging to their chef. We were not staying at the hotel or on their property but passing by the entrance to... more
