All I can say is this place needs to learn how to manage bookings properly! My husband and I were going to a wedding nearby and decided to book into this hotel/B & B/pub (not really sure what to call it) as other guests were also staying here. The chaos started as soon as we booked through Late rooms. A... More

Booked a room here on their website as I was going to a wedding. When I tried to check in the moody girl behind the bar told me I didn't have a room reservation and that they were fully booked. I said I'd booked online and was told I couldn't have cause their online system hasn't been working for ages.... More

Just back from a lovely meal, as always, at the Boat and Anchor. My husband is disabled and the staff could not be more obliging. Been going there for 10 years and have never had a bad experience. Well done Mike, keep up the good work.

Took my parents to lunch today (fathers day) as a treat to them; As soon as we got in, there were staff around to show us to our table (in the lovely conservatory) and take orders for drinks. The food was brilliant and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The wait between courses and the clearing of the tables... More

stayed here for a couple nights on a business trip, this place is a utter joke when you arrive your lucky to get a answer from the door after thumping the hotel door/owners quarters for half hour then giving up and waiting in your car for another hour the owner finally gets out his pit in a mood chewing wasps,... I took my wife and son to this place for the first time. Our meals were absolutely atrocious. I ordered the large butter beans with garlic bread. The beans were from a tin and the garlic bread was greasy, with no garlic in it. My wife's vine leaves came from a tin, with very cheap tomato sauce over it. I... More

We broke up a long journey by stopping here intending to have an outdoor meal so that our dogs could stretch their legs. The food was good pub grub (lovely salad). When it started raining the manager kindly said that as long as the dogs were well behaved we could eat indoors - much appraciated, we will be back.

My stay was very comfortable and pleasant. The food could not be faulted and its situated in an ideal location. It has a wonderful family and home-like feeling and made my stay away from home feel relaxing, the staff could not be more welcoming and friendly. I would recommend this hotel for families or couples looking for a romantic escape.

This establishment is what you may refer to as good old fashioned charm and service, Yes the building is of an older age but it IS very comfortable and full of charm. The owner, Mike, is a very obliging man, I say this because I'm on my third visit here within a very short space of time and I arrived... More
