This is excellent base for Exmoor hiking. We walked from Wheddon Cross to Purlock which is a fabulous hike with a wide variety of types of scenery from rolling green hills to gorse moor to oak forests. The B&B itself is very comfortable with good food and friendly hosts. There is pub within walking distance which serves tasty food at... More

We took on a great bargain for a home from home base and a chance to see the Exmoor countryside in springtime. Good food a big comfortable bed and very friendly hosts are the reasons we come back. The weather was varied depending on where you were and we managed to find the sun in Appledore, Marwood Garden, Arlington Court... More

Excellent value, an insight into rural life, sublime views, cosy accommodation, succulent meals, friendly and helpful hosts - what's not to like? The location is perfect for a walking weekend or longer. The car can be parked (incidentally - plenty of space for this too) and forgotten about. The waking routes available are manifold. Go to Exmoor and stay at... More

We stayed at North Wheddon Farm for a long weekend for my "Hen Do" and had a wonderful time. We rented both self catering cottages as there were 8 of us and both properties were warm, cosy and very well equipped. It felt like a "home from home" but it was nice enough to feel special. Rachael had put the... More

Our 3rd visit to North Wheddon Farm was just as relaxing and enjoyable as we hoped it would be. Although the weather was cold we were kept warm in the evenings by the lovely open fire. The food, breakfast and dinner in our £99 deal was excellent. Shame the sheep are having their lambs late this year! Will be back... More

We stayed at North Wheddon Farm for a 3 night Spring break with friends who have spoken so highly of it that we felt we just had to try it for ourselves. It certainlly lived up to our expectations. Our room was warm and comfortable and nothing was too much trouble for Rachael and Julian, We found the breakfasts to... More

My dog and I treated ourselves to a late winter break at North Wheddon Farm to escape the cares of work and generally rewind at this hidden idyllic location. The accommodation (Farthingwood Barn) was spacious, yet cosy - a perfect retreat after long days walking across the moors and through the wooded combes looking for red deer. Exmoor is a... More

Let's start positively by saying that your hosts are warm, helpful and friendly. But after hard thought I cannot get this property above average, at best. Why? Well the rooms are OK but not warm and welcoming; there are draughts everywhere and our shower room only heated via a heater linked to the light and so was cold. The common... More

We have just returned from our 3rd springtime visit to North Wheddon Farm and everything was perfect once again. Rachael and Julian are charming hosts, the rooms are well-appointed and the locally-sourced food of the highest quality. There is little to add beyond what other reviewers say. This B&B is an ideal base for a visit to one of the... More

Great 3 night stay with friendly welcome. We were looked after very well - nothing too much trouble. We had lovely food cooked with local produce, sitting before a log fire whilst we ate! Very comfortable room with ensuite. Enjoyed seeing all the animals. Amazed at how they have their own names!

North Wheddon Farm is an ideal base to access the Exmoor and Devon area with it's fantastic beaches and stunning scenery just minutes way. We offer superb bed and breakfast accommodation within the farmhouse. In the grounds of the farm we have two self-catering properties, the Farthingwood Barn and the Eden Lodge. Here at North Wheddon we love to cook and are proud of our reputation. Food is very much 'River Cottage' style. If we can not grow it or raise it here on the farm, you can be sure it is locally sourced and the very best of quality.
