Were excited by the glossy brochures and idea of a themed hotel so though we would splash out the treat the kids. What a terrible disappointment. Although the staff do their best, the hotel is shabby and the attempt of a theme amounts to a few prints hung on the walls and a "past its best" carpet. Breakfast is by... more

Stayed overnight for a 'Sant Sleepover' Found it to be a mixed affair. The first off putting part was the enormous queue to book in - we waited 45mins. We then visited Santa in his woodland glade. This we found to be the best part of the trip, very realistic, we were not rushed at all. We then went on... more

Stayed at Alton Towers for thier Santa sleepover. Family had an excellent time going to Caribe creek, mini golf, puppett show, Priate Bill show and Disco all on th first day. Christmas dinner in the evening was very good with a wide range to choose from. On the second day we went into the park to see Santa and go... more

We booked this hotel as we got a deal. The rooms were very nice, so was the hotel in general. Dont think i would have been happy if we would have paid any more. Was expensive whilst there but we didnt expect any different. Entertainment wasnt great, there was a really over the top childrens entertainer, and then a depressing... more

This is the 2nd time we have stayed in the alton towers original hotel. This hotel is very friendly. the rooms are all fun designed, very clean and fully equiped with tv, hairdryer, kettle, condiments & all bathroom bits. The beds are extremely comfortable with ample blankets & duvets. The breakfast was fantastic. Although we didn't have our evening meal... more

My boyfriend & I came to Alton Towers over the Valentine's weekend and I only booked the hotel the day before we went so wasn't left with much choice. All regular rooms were booked and there were only a few themed rooms left. I think we paid near on £200 for 1-nite (with entry to both parks, breakfast and extraordinary... more

Check in was easy as was finding the room. The room was clean although there were quite a few long hairs scattered around the room. Nice views from the room. Only down points were that the bathroom was a bit grubby, the entertainment in the lobby sounded like it was in our room and the beds were a little hard.... more

Myself, my husband, his mum, sister and her son went for a 3 day 2 night stay at Alton Towers during Scarefest and it's one of the best mini breaks i've ever had. It was my first time there and it certainly didnt dissapoint. The hotel itself is absolutely spotless and as soon as we walked in it transports you... more

We stayed this week and couldn't fault anything about the hotel, staff friendliness, entertainment, location and breakfast. We stayed during Scarefest. Hotel looked wonderful with decorations. Staff were friendly, helpful and very smart. Our rooms were spotless and very warm with those little extras in the bathroom. Big plus that the hairdryers were powerful too. The evening live entertainment was... more

Planned a trip to Alton Towers and decided to stay over, found out that you can get much cheaper rates on other websites than ringing the hotel direct or by going on the hotels website - so if you do decide to book, go this way! Food good - all you can eat buffet, but the hotel felt quite tired... more
