Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had a lovely weekend at the three horseshoes. When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely lady on reception who was extremely helpful with all our queries. We had a classic room which was very nice, clean with a big bathroom. The only down side there was no view and the shower wasn't powerful and we couldn't get the water very hot. However the room had everything you would expect. The food was beautiful especially the Sunday carvery which we changed to rather than an evening meal. It is worth booking. The bar area is wonderful with a lovely traditional feel. We did use the spa which was nice and unusual. However it was expensive and would not use it again. Staff are lovely and attentive and really help to make your stay enjoyable. A good walk just a 3min drive was the tittesworth reservoir. You have to pay and disply for parking so if you are going to do the big reservoir walk you would need more than 2 hours parking especially as there's a very nice cafe at the end. Overall a very nice stay and excellent value.

We thought we would treat ourselves to a night away and paid extra for a better room; the room smelt strongly of bleach/chlorine and the room was terribly dated and basic. I was so underwhelmed at having paid so much money for it. The staff were hit & miss, most of gave the impression that they didn’t want to be there. The noise at night was awful, loud bass coming from the function room and also an extremely loud fire alarm in the middle of night with no explanation/follow up. The breakfast was ok but didn’t make up for the mediocre experience.

I am perplexed at the fact that i made a booking and then 2 mins later realized it was for the wrong dates and then tried to move or cancel and rebook and the hotel and was denied both, only option the offered was to pay almost dbl the original fee of another room on the dates i actually need. i stay at 3-4 hotels a week, and this is by far the most disgusted i have been treated for simple mistake and only within a few mins of the original booking. safe to say ill never book here again and id think twice about using this place.

Came away for a cheeky couples night and lovely every minute of it. Lovely little room. Managed to get into the spa which was a nice added bonus and huge portions of food. I don’t know what of how they cook the chips, they have a special B shaped groove in them, but they are probably the best chips I have ever ever had. Amazing. Lovely friendly staff. We will be back!

Food was delicious. Do you not have a staff meeting room you can meet in. Two staff members on a table by the carvery discussing staff issues and hotel business very loudly for all to hear! Whether you wanted yo hear it or not! Was very annoying!

Me and my boyfriend had this Spa gifted for Christmas, we really enjoyed our stay the room was clean with our own robes and slippers on the bed to use for our hot tub outside. We both had a head, neck and shoulder massage which was really nice and relaxing, good facilities with an outside pool and different saunas. We had 2 course meal at night which was lovely and breakfast included. Staff were super friendly, I actually mistakenly left my necklace inside the pocket of the robes you hand back in after you've been in the spa, rang reception to ask if they could have a look, they did end up finding it which I really appreciated and could tell they took the time and effort to get it back to me, thank you again.

Stayed for 2 nights as a couple which cost £199 for the winter break offer which included 2 course evening meal both nights and breakfast both days. Stayed in a pub room which was fine. Didn’t use spa facilities. Food was excellent. Real good value break. Would definitely stay again.

This was our first visit to The Three Horseshoes and we certainly weren’t disappointed, we received a warm welcome from the reception on arrival. Our room was a classic room which was beautiful and clean. On going down for a drink before our meal we met a number of staff all very pleasant, there was one young man called Craig who was exceptional , he was interested in where we’d travelled from, great fun to talk, and extremely professional in his job an asset to the company. Our meal was first class, looking forward to our next visit. Ann & Ken Ray
