Booked in at the last minute having given up travelling between Hampshire and Suffolk due to appalling weather. Slight mix-up with the booking via ActiveHotels.com as, apparently, it should have stated that no bookings are taken after 6pm (it said 8pm). In any case we were not able to get into the hotel (which is actually a B&B) until the manageress had returned at c. 9.30pm. In the interim, though, the owner had recommended one of the most fantastic Italian restaurants I have ever dined at (Bel Vedere in Bagshot) so no particular hardship.
Once we were able to turn up and get in, the place was great and the welcome from the manageress was very pleasant. It's down a private cul-de-sac and hence feels relatively "off the beaten track." It was certainly quiet. The rooms are extremely well decorated, each with a fairly lavish French and/or Italianate theme. The equipment in the rooms is great, with fresh milk and complimentary snacks, decent TVs and sound systems...
