This is a fabulous grand building but far far from a fabuous grand hotel. The staff don't seem to care or maybe they've just become imune to the complaints!! Booked hotel with friend for an overnight stay. Upgraded to an "executive room" which was bog standard, needed upgrading and certainly does not warrant its 4 star rating. We recently stayed at Selsdon Park as our friends' wedding reception took place there. A lovely wedding but the hotel itself leaves a lot to be desired. Long queues at reception for booking in. Staff very slow only two on duty. No hot water during our whole stay ( one of the boilers had broken down) a letter was put under our door whilst we were out to inform us of this. We stayed here for the weekend of our Wedding. We married on May 9 this year. Husband-to-be was duly sent home on the Friday night, of course. We were to marry on the Saturday (at our local Church) so our Wedding was not at the Hotel. We had a further 9 people staying with us at the SP all weekend... more

Nice hotel and grounds, but the Buffet Breakfast was hardly impressive - most containers empty (even by 8:30am), tired looking tinned fruit and luke-warm cooked breakfast in big tureens. more
