We were very disappointed with our recent stay at this "hotel". We travel widely in the UK and overseas and have no problem with paying for quality - but this place is a complete rip-off. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and everyone’s opinion and taste will differ a little, others more dramatically. On the rare occasions that our guests feel that Hotel de Vie has not lived up to their expectations I genuinely try to understand and deal with the issues raised provided that it is viable for me to do so. Our smaller double rooms start at £90 per night and go up to £110 per night for the larger rooms...

I completely agree with "robskils" this place is terrible value. I paid £110 per night. I’ve stayed in cheaper 4* hotels that were much more comfortable and relaxing. Our 'Decadence Room' has a King Size Four Poster bed in it and having just read this review I literally ran upstairs and jumped on it! The reviewer is correct it does have a squeak.... The bed is solid hardwood and so the squeaking would seem to be wood rubbing on wood. I am going to dismantle the bed and...

Lovely romantic ambiance in this boutique hotel. The rooms,bathrooms, & beds lived up to expectation. True- rooms slightly smaller that website suggests but cosy and really sorted. Really first class linens. Great breakfasts. Would like tea tray in room for those 5am cuppas!! more
