I always try and stop when in the area, half the price of comparable hotels, just as good if not better than chain hotels. The only minor issue is that the restaurant has a limited menu, however there is an Italian, Chinese and Indian restaurant within 50 yards, plus 2 pubs one serving food.

Great value with spacious comfortable room and plentiful breakfast. Although we arrived early they were very friendly as we waited for our room to be ready.The bar prices were very reasonable although they will benefit from having a separate bar area, planned for the future.

Booked late and arrived late, rooms nice and well equipped , staff polite , breakfast excellent . For the money I was expecting far less so very pleasantly surprised ,Only prob was the water pipes in room were a little noisy constantly rough out the night!

Stayed 1 night. Room was big and very clean.Comfy beds plus tea/coffee making facilities.We were unable to turn the heating down but the very helpful member of staff assisted us and problem solved.The water took a while to drain from the bath,apparantly they are getting a new system installed soon.Breakfast was fine but not spectacular.However for the price we paid... this is the second time we have stayed at this hotel,both times on the great north run weekend. both times had a lovely big room on the ground floor, staff were lovely and helpful, breakfast was great lots to choose from. Hopefully will get booked up again for next year.
