I had the misfortune to book a room at this hotel whilst the owner was holding an engagement party for his step son. Initially i had to park outside on the street, as the carpark was full. Not a problem i thought, maybe the rest will make up for the inconvenience. I could not have been more wrong! My booking... more

Stayed at GW for 2 nights/3rds of golf. Hotel food was really good, all be it service was slow considering there were only 10 people in restaurant. Rooms were a bit dated but clean and tidy. Was asked at reception if we wanted a sunday newspaper, which we thought was complementary, only to be charged for it on departure which was... more

I stayed here for 2 nights while attending a course and the hotel while not spectacular it is clean and tidy. My room was clean and comfy and my only complaint was that i had to have a cold shower on the second morning due to no hot water. High point is the buffet breakfast and free internet in the... more

The hotel is set in spacious surroundings, although a few flowerbeds would help to make it look more appealing. Depending on where your room was situated, you heard the noise of the passing traffic. The hotel rooms where clean and comfortable. The one big letdown was the unfriendly staff especially the receptionist who was miserable and unhelpful. This does not... more

Stayed over at the George Washington following a party to celebrate my wedding anniversary. Party was excellent and no issues with how it was organised. However, not much chance of any sleep due to noise from other guests in the hotel. The hotel accepts groups such as stag parties and have a strict policy of allowing only one key card... more

We've (me & seven freinds) just returned from 3 days at the George Washington Hotel and I must give some excellent feedback about the Hotel and the condition of it's Golf course. The food was excellent with great choice, the rooms were spotlessly clean (a little too warm, but it was June!) and the service was 1st class. The Golf... more

Standard rooms have oversized comfy bed, flat screen TV, iron and iron board, tea/coffee making facility, full length mirror. Bathroom modern with power shower. Could not fault hotel, fitness suit and swimming pool. Breakfast also very tasty. Would stay here again, near to metro centre. more

On arrival no issues with check in, although no directions to my room, finally found the room through the warren of stuffy stale smoke filled corridors. The room itself... had a double a single and a made up camp bed, only me staying! Walls had paper peeling from the seams, furniture was dated and pretty tatty. The bathroom...ouch!! mould around... more

We have just returned from a short break staying at The George Washington Golf & Country Hotel in Washington. The hotel was clean and friendly staff in all departments, any requests were seen to immediately! The food was piping hot, a good selection of each course and always delicious! The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The singer in the... more

stayed one night (business trip) Bar and bistro are strangely windowless but the food was good. Buffet style breakfast was fresh with friendly service. Room was large, quiet, warm with a large double. Very clean and 4meg wireless. 28" flat screen tv with excellent digital freeview tv picture. (Why do some hotels seem prepared to offer TV's with poor recption?)... more
