This is a low quality hotel, but good for a stop-off if you are looking to stay over en route to somewhere else... or if quality is not your major concern. It is very similar to a motel, it is basic in decor and amenities. The staff are friendly enough and the access to the motorway and then up to... More

Very nice hotel with good value for money. Rooms have all necessary amenities and are clean enough. You can put a heater for a desired temperature. Internet is for free and available in the room as wifi. They have very good kitchen - you can eat a good food there and in the morning you can eat traditional Full English... More

Arrived very late (1 AM) at night so great to have someone on duty 24 hours and the check in was quick and efficient. Good sized room and very clean but was freezing as the heater in the room had not been turned on. I can applaud the fact they want to save energy but not heating unused rooms but... More

I stayed at this campanile hotel weekend 12/08/11 on a coach trip with newmarket holidays and had a wonderful time,im not going to say it was the best hotel i have stayed in but as its only a budget hotel on the same lines as premier and travel inns it met my expectations, the breakfast was very good, the cooked breakfast was... We were attending a friends wedding in Beamish and our friend told us this wasn't far from there about 20 minutes. We stayed for 2 nights so was only there for sleeping really. Its very basic and cheap. The staff were nice and friendly. The rooms were okay. Just need a thorough clean and refurb. We had breakfast one morning,... More

I wasn't expecting great things for a budget hotel and it lived up to my low expectations. Good points: the staff were very friendly and the continental breakfast was great, the room was a reasonable standard of cleanliness Bad points:- Despite having free wifi, the only available power point in the room was in the corridor outside the bathroom -... I've been used to the Campanile hotels in France so i thought this would be along similar lines, only £52, you can't complain about the price, and the greeting fine, very friendly and 'happy to do their best to solve any problems'. Trouble is the biggest problem is the fabric of the property itself. I didn't actually end up sleeping... More

My wife went after one night's stay from the Campanile straight to Redworth Manor (Barcelo) a few miles away for our daughter's wedding reception. We had a fabulous reception, but paid three times as much, for which we got large grounds we could walk in, a gym, a pool and a fancy, attractive building, but very expensive food and very... More

We booked two days and extended our stay to four days because we slept so well and the rooms were so quiet. We also had our small dog with us and he hears little noises in the night and gets upset --However, these rooms are each set down their own little hallway past the bathrooms and then the bedroom is... Stayed here for 3 nights for business primarily because I really struggled to find anywhere closer to Chester Le Street where I wanted to be and that was within budget. It's fine accommodation wise although perhaps a little overpriced at £51.95 for room only. It has its own restaurant which I didn't use, there are other limited options in the... More
