Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Came here for birthday treat, the rooms are lovely and clean but what made it for me was the spa facility and treatment rooms.. these second to none! The staff are polite, friendly and very professional, Sam P was a superb therapist would highly recommend. 👌

Perfect visit from start to finish. Our bags were collected as we arrived - James on reception couldn’t have been more attentive and all the staff were so helpful and really wanted to ensure our stay was perfect. The bar had a great atmosphere and the food was amazing. The spa facilities were great. We will happily visit again!

The spa area is very run down and outdated. There was no drinking water in the spa or sauna area. Spa was full of kids screaming and jumping into the pool which was freezing cold. You have to pay for a robe which is very odd when you’re paying for a 2 night spa break. The hotel also has conference rooms which are open til midnight. Our room was above one and the first night the music was so loud we requested a room change which we didn’t get until the 2nd night. Overall it wasn’t a nice relaxing spa break like me and my wife are used to. It was annoying, noisy, and just didn’t have a relaxing feel. This is not a spa hotel. It’s more like a golf resort where you would go with your mates to play golf then just get drunk afterwards. Do not go here with a partner and expect a nice relaxing spa break. Allowing kids to go into the spa area is enough of a mistake on its own to just not go here

We have just returned from a Spa weekend. I had a 50 minute full body massage from Selina who was brilliant. The spa area was lovely, very relaxing. We were slightly disappointed by the pool area as it was overcrowed, and then small kids got in so it then wasnt so relaxing. We found out they open the pool for leisure club guests, not just for the hotel. The room was nice, very clean and modern. Only let down was the very uncomfortable beds and our sheets were ripped. After a massage we both woke up this morning with bad backs from the hard mattress. Food in the Ryder grill was decent. We were served by Alex who was great, he asked about our day and gave us recommendations for the food. Lovely entertainment on the night, live music from goat. There were however a few odd characters at the bar who were clearly on drugs, so we were surprised they were allowed to stay on site. Breakfast was madness, the restaurant is huge but there still wasn't room for all guests. We got there at a decent time to get a table, but when we left at around 10ish, there was a massive queue to get in! Overall an ok stay. We'll be back once the new spa has been built with the separate pool!

Our second stay here, beyond expectations as before. Very relaxing day topped off with a fantastic night in the Brabazon bar, made even better by Jack M behind the bar, incredible service and skill as we made our way through the cocktail menu

Great meal and a lovely room which I decided to upgrade (manor house suite), staff were very helpful and friendly via email. Really good food with good vegan options. Hannah and Marta at the Ryder grill were really great too. The main issue was as newly weds it would have been nice to have had some mention of it, in particular after we had just been inundated with congratulations at the venue we had chosen for our post wedding meal and even when going for a coffee in the area of our wedding received congratulations. Nothing at the Belfry though, which made some parts of the stay feel as though they lacked the personal touch.

Room Tip: Jacuzzi gets busy. The fire and ice bit is separate unless otherwise stated. Fyi.

Marta was very helpful and attended to our needs with even as far as carrying my husbands plate to the table!. Marta was very helpful especially as I have allergies to certain foods and she went above and beyond what I would have expected. We even learnt her language Polish. Make sure you guys look after her. She's a credit to the Belfry xx

Great food and service in the Ryder Grill. Our service from Lottie was first class. She is a credit to The Belfry, well done. Great ambience and the selection of food was very good. Friendly service with a smile is rare these days but Lottie put up with us with grace and humour!
