Poor service throughout. The food was only 1 small step up from MacDonalds - e.g. lunch fish nuggets and mushy peas with about 4 chips. The overpricing was almost beyond belief - basically you'd be a mug to stay here, there are much better hotels around for half the price. more

What should have been a hassle-free two night stay with my girlfriend was a catalogue of incompetency. A lengthy note was left for the manager - no response after 2 weeks plus. Our 'Full Board' booking from lastminute.com had not registered properly. This was resolved at check-in. Then the fun began: damp bathrobes in our room and at the spa.... more

I kind of like this hotel. But… It’s totally overpriced (as all UK hotels are), but the setting is very pretty and the stay I had was OK all round. Lots of little things were wrong and they soon added up but, in isolation, were not important. It is by no means a Relais & Châteaux, or SLH type property... more

I stayed in May at the Bailiffscourt Hotel. I had a deluxe room, which included an open fire (not needed because of the weather though) and a four poster bed. Good points of the hotel: The service was friendly and efficient, reception service was particularly excellent Food - Breakfast was faultless, the restaurant is not cheap. but the food is... more

I was given a present of a one night stay for two at this hotel and spa to be taken on a Sunday only. The deal included bed (in a superior double room), breakfast ,dinner and a facial or massage for each of us. As we live over 50 miles away we decided to book the Saturday night as well... more

Hotels are always hit or miss. Read a few reviews about this place and seemed 50/50. Wanted to get a true blue english experience at an old style manor. From start to finish the whole experience was perfect. Reception friendly and cozy, escorted to our room by the porter. The communal areas had a fireplace and quiet place to sit... more

We had booked three nights at Bailiffscourt between Christmas and New Year, having done the same at Ockenden Manor the year before and thoroughly enjoyed it. However Bailiffscourt was not the same experience. We were told that our room would be available from 3.00 pm which was when we arrived. The Receptionist apologised but said that the room was 'being... more

We live in east -sussex so only a few miles from baliffscourt in climping. Having always know that the place was there but never actually visiting we decided that a romantic getaway whilst we were childfree was the tonic we needed. Not too far that we could not be there in an emergency but in luxurious surroundings. The hotel is... more

An excellent location, professional staff and overall lovely stay. The food was very satisfying without being stunning & the wine list was excellent. However it has to be said that it would be difficult to justify the expense again. The rooms were smart & interesting, but the overall experience was a little disappointing at the £180 we ended up paying... more

My fiance and I visited the hotel to enquire about hosting our wedding and reception at the hotel. We walked into the reception to find two young girls giggling, clearly lounging around. We were shown to the lounge to wait for the event planner. The first impression was 'what a disaster'. Dirty crockery and cutlery from the lunch service were... more
