We have used this Travelodge several times and, although it is tired and jaded, have always found it clean, comfortable and quiet. The free parking is an asset too with just a 20 minute drive to Brighton. Don't succomb to the charms (!) of the Little Chef. Walk across the roundabout to the Castle pub which has an excellent Chinese... more

On arrival we had to wait in reception for 20 minute. Our room was not ready due to shortage of cleaning staff. The lodge is definitely tired and in need of refurbishment. Our room had stains on the walls, pictures missing (just the screws in the wall), a torn quilt cover, not enough bed linen or towels for the number... more

I booked a 3 nights stay here for my parents here 9th - 12th August. My mother is recovering from a serious illness and struggles to walk long distances. We didn't even need to asked for an adapted room. The staff saw my parents.. took the surname. They were advised the room was on the first floor (no lifts). My... more

This TravelLodge is fine - plenty of space in the room, clean and affordable. Staff friendly enough too. No complaints - good budget hotel. more

We stayed at the Travelodge Hickstead for two weekend nights in April. My partner was on a work related trip and we decided to all go - with it being half term and I would take the kids to London for the day etc......Booked as everything else in Brighton area fully booked already and seemed reasonably priced for the weekend.... more

There is a lack of accommodation in this area and this hotel relies on you having nowhere else to go. I am tired of reporting defects which are not attended to. On my last two x two nights stay neither the bath, washbasin were cleaned nor the waste bins in room or toilet emptied. more

Travelodge Hickstead is well kept, clean, and convenient for visiting Brighton and East Sussex. We were lucky enough to book a room on the £9-per-night offer, and this was fantastic value for money. Our room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable double bed, television, tea and coffee making facilities and a good sized bathroom. Our room was at the... more

I found this travellodge totally acceptable. Granted the walls need a lick of paint, but the rooms (My friend also came along) were clean and the bedlinen was clean. Obviously it is a travel lodge and furniture was basic but there were tea/coffee making facilites and a TV. The little chef just in front of the hotel was also excellent.... more

There isn't a lot wrong with the Hickstead Travelodge really, it's well placed for anywhere you'd want to visit in Sussex, and it's cheap, and the bed was very comfortable. The bath, however, was tiny. The hotel is just a bit run down in general. I guess you get what you pay for really. more

We have stayed at this and other Travelodges before, and the quality is definitely going down--not surprising, since they are aiming at rock bottom prices, especially for those who book in advance. This time, the check-in desk was very friendly, as usual, but our experiences of the room matched some of the previous reviewers--pretty filthy. The duvet (under the cover)... more
