A must do...what a fabulous place. The food is excellent and reasonable priced. The huts are maintained everyday and are spotless. You could eat off the floor. All the staff are very polite and courteous. The sand is white and clean. The locals are unique. I can't think of a more special place. Luke (the owner) has made a great... more

My husband and I just returned from a trip to Yelapa for our "babymoon" and stayed at Hotel Lagunita. We spent the first night in the honeymoon suite and the remaining 4 nights in an oceanfront room. The honeymoon suite was quite large (and had 3 beds.. odd for a honeymoon!). Based on the other rooms I saw and conversations... more

This place is wonderful. If you're prepared to really relax in a remote and beautiful locale, you should try Lagunita for an extended stay. It is very rustic, more than the website would indicate, and the palapa rooms are almost open-air, but we found after a day or two that we were sleeping until 9:00 or 10:00 a.m. awakening to... more

My husband & I really enjoyed our week in a large breezy palapa, a stone's throw from the beach. Even though we stayed in the more expensive "honeymoon" bungalo, our friends stayed in a smaller bungalo right on the water which they loved and it was 1/2 the price of ours. The little bungalos are surrounded by lush flora and... more

I too, saw a little blub in Sunset Magazine, about the Hotel Lagunita, and after researching their website, and also about the town of Yelapa, decided my husband and I needed to go. We stayed for 10 days, and I'm glad we did, because it truely allows you the opportunity to completely unwind, and become familiar with this wonderful place.... more

I thought I'd actually arrived in paradise as the water taxi brought me in to the island. It is absolutely gorgeous. I stayed in palapa #24 out by the dock and it was a long and complicated path to get there. I knew from other reviewers to take flashlights, reading lights, etc. I had two beds, both with heavy netting,... more

We read about Lagunita in Sunset magazine and thought it sounded like the perfect getaway. It really is a special spot but it was more rustic than we expected. The website is really well done. To me, at least, it made the hotel seem more posh than it really is. We stayed in room #4 which is older and close... more

I have to start by saying this is NOT a five star hotel, BUT Yelapa itself is so beautiful, and the people at the Lagunita are so nice, my overall experience was 5 star excellent. If you want to have absolutely nothing to do but lay on the beach, swim in the ocean, and eat (and by the way, be... more

We just had to write a review on our stay at the lagunita. Is it rustic ? yes in a kind of wacky Gilligans Island way. Clean? yes our room was mopped and cleaned daily with beds remade. Is the staff accomodating...yes they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we wanted. is it for everyone... more

This place was incredible. Beautiful, serene, and calm. Compared to the loud thumping resort we came from in PV, it was just what we needed. You would need to be the kind that enjoys the outdoors - there are quite a few critters (geckos, crabs, some bugs) but nothing too crazy. The restaurant was delicious, service was fabulous (hello and... more
