We are regular visitors to Oberon and have stayed at the Big Trout previously. Being only 3 hours drive from Sydney, Oberon can get busy with many activities such as Open Gardens, Festivals, Show etc so it's definitely a good idea to book in advance. We thought the tariff a little high this time (we stay at 5-star Asian hotels... More

Just spent 3 days at this motel, the room was very clean, I felt very comfortable and relaxed. I was a female solo traveller and felt safe in my room. There is a Chinese restaurant onsite which is very good and the owner and waitstaff are very friendly. The motel owners are friendly and are happy to help you enjoy... More

Our family stayed in a spacious and clean family room. There were two separate sleeping areas, one with a Queen bed, and a single bed and the other with two single beds. The beds were comfortable but the pillows were a bit low. There was a table and chairs in the room with the two single beds and there was... More

We stayed here over the weekend before heading off to Mayfair Gardens on the sunday. We got the last room available, which happened to be a spa room. It was HUGE, two bedrooms with two queen size beds and a single. It was fresh and clean and the people running the place were very nice and helpfull, they could not... More

We have stayed at this motel a number of times. Bed is comfortable, room is large with table and chairs, and one easy (if a little tired) armchair. Room is heated and there is an electric blanket on the bed. If you should be too warm, then the window can be opened. Bathroom a good size - one (and only... More

Stayed there on the Queens long weekend on the Saturday night. Other hotels said two night minimum. Just wanted to stay there one night so we could spend all day at Jenolan Caves refreshed. They gave us the family room at the rear of the hotel which overlooked the rolling hills of Oberon. There were two rooms, one at the... More

We were lucky enough to get the last room available in this motel. The room was clean and very quiet in the back section of the motel. We found the bed just a bit too firm and the room was heated from a central control in the motel, there was no airconditioning and no individual control over the temperature of... More

We stayed for two nights and found this accommodation very suitable. It was clean, warm, and not too noisy despite being on the main street of Oberon (albeit away from the main shopping strip) and despite being school holidays with several families staying there also. There was some plumbing noise a few times but it didn't bother us when we... More

The first time we stayed at the Big Trout ( unfortunate name ) was about 15 years ago and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of this 3 star hotel. We have since stayed there every time we go down to the Jenolan Caves area. Our latest trip was a week ago when we took a family member to... More
