We stayed there on the X'mas day after long drive from Bicheno. The place is not far from Bridport town & very close to Barnbugle golf course. We spend a night there in a two-storey self contain house. It was pretty quiet. You can walk into the farm along the river searching for the platypus. We were unlucky, but still enjoy the walk anyway. You can do your own cooking in the house & can buy veggy & fruit from the garden next door. We went for a round of golf and visited the lavender farm next day before heading to Launceston. Overall, it is a good value place if you like farmstay. more

Platypus Park cottages are in a peaceful location only a few minutes drive from the seaside town of Bridport. Gina, our host, welcomed us warmly and showed us into our Wattle Spa Ensuite accommodation. Our suite was part of the larger Wattle Spa Cottage. It was quite spacious with queen bed, basic kitchen facilities and bathroom downstairs and another bedroom upstairs. There was a balcony with chairs overlooking the grassy property and also a dam where guests can fish for trout in season. Gina was able to give us information on the local area and ideas for dinner. We quite enjoyed our brief stay and found Bridport an ideal stopover as a halfway point between Launceston and Bicheno. The tariff was reasonable at $126 and included breakfast provisions. more
