Absolutely brilliant. The setting is superb; wonderful views from our cabin (Big Tree Cabin — Cliff Top Cabin was possibly even better) and lovely walks or just sit and chill. There was a good snow our first night which made everything even nicer. The bush walks were wonderful too. Michael was great. Always ready to do what ever was wanted... More

We stayed for three nights at the end of April 2013. We had a great time, the cabin was spotlessly clean and comfortable - faultless. Paul was great in showing us the features of the room and made himself available for questions we had about things to see and do. The peace and quiet was just what we needed for... More

Nestled into the side of Mt Misery, is the well thought out Huon Bush Retreats. Beautiful views, though does require a decent car to get up the steep dirt track! We stayed in a teepee, which had a double sofa bed and cosy log burner - amenities were great: hot water, clean showers, and a private hot outdoor bath for... More

We stayed in the streamside cabin. It was perfectly private and set amongst beautiful bush. We saw alot of wildlife on the drive into the retreat with wallabies, potaroos and possums. The solar powered cabin was clean and tidy, with a wood heater keeping it very cosy. It certainly met my expectations of a bush retreat being very relaxed and... More

A fantastic location, lots of wildlife. A complete retreat from the busy world. We had wallabies and possums visiting at night. A wood fire kept us warm at night and we could cook at the campsite style facilities. The owners were very welcoming, but also were happy to leave us to it, which is what you want when having a... The venue is awesome on the edge of natural bush with excellent walks. I was probably expecting the place to be bigger, but samll and quaint is great. We stayed in a teepee which was really nice, had everthing you want but still felt like you were camping. We happen to lob on a 30C day and it was great... More

This is a wonderful, peaceful place to relax, hike the bush, watch the wildlife, listen to the birds. There is nothing like sitting outside watching a pademelon graze. Hiking up to Mt. Misery makes for lovely views and a great walk through bush and across a ridge. There is also a small labyrinth to walk and focus on being peaceful.... More

We camped in the overflow camping area. It suited us perfectly for a bit of luxury camping, at very good prices for the peak Christmas / New Year period, before we went bush with no facilities! Still private & surrounded by bush, but also close to the immaculate kitchen facilities. The bathroom facilities are the cleanest we have ever found... More

In short: a lovely place to escape to In detail: my family and I had four nights in the Clifftop lodge at the start of January. My wife and I loved it. Our kids not so much. Their main issue was that they couldn't easily recharge their gadgets and had to make twice daily trips to reception to recharge iPads,... More

This deservedly won a unique accommodation award in 2011. Where else can you take a hot outdoor bath on the deck in total privacy with the sun on your face? The setting on a cliff top in the bush is magical. We had one of our best star gazing experiences ever, simply because there was complete darkness once we switched... More
