I stayed here overnight in winter, and was made very welcome by the owner, Wally. He was very gracious, and gave excellent advice about where to dine, etc. The motel apartment was not fancy, but very clean and warm, the gardens lovely (even in winter), and the location excellent, as it is very close to the historic site at Port Arthur - you can walk very easily. I would definitely stay there again. Wally has a nice wine selection available, so if you need a bottle, he can recommend a good wine.
By the way, do NOT eat at the Comfort Inn across the street - it is to be demolished, and no care has been taken with it, and it shows. The hotel itself is dowdy, and the food below average. more
