We stayed here one night after touring Port Arthur. The rustic cabins were large & would have been ideal for a longer family vacation, coming complete with living area, balcony, kitchen, washer/dryer. They do charge for washing powder packets. Check in was perfunctory as already mentioned; we didn't use any of the other services. Map to our cabin was difficult... more

This place is truly beautiful. Other words that spring to mind include serene, magical, calming... This eco-resort complex has been thoughtfully designed with a focus on eco-friendly building and design. It is right on the water and overlooks two beautiful bays; both gorgeous - Stewarts Bay is an 800m crescent of white sand. Place is nestled in the Aussie bushland.... more

we were a bit disappointed with Port Douglas and why we had gone there, but it was worth it to find this gem and the restaurant was a perfect ending to a long drive. Great food at good quality and priced accordingly, the whole experience was what I would expect from a good quality restaurant. My only regret was that... more

I stayed at Stewarts Bay Lodge with my parents who were visiting me from San Francisco. We were in cabin 25, a 2-bedroom deluxe spa cabin, which was towards the Port Arthur end of the property. Cabins 23, 24, 25, 26 are closest to the water on that end, and 27 & 28 were above those, and would have perhaps... more

Not easy to write an accurate review of the SBL since your experience will pretty much depend on which cabin you are in. Some are modern and very nicely furnished, others are old and just average. Some (about 15%) have splendid views on the sea while others have view on ...other cabins. We know that because we were first given... more

Sometimes you go somewhere expecting a lot and the experience falls flat. SBL falls in this category. We arrived to a receptionist obviously at the end of a long day - and felt more as if we were creating a burden. The experience wasn't a whole lot better on checking out, when the receptionist was busy - with the remainder... more

Stayed at Stewarts Bay Lodge, very convenient location and easy access to Port Arthur historical site - an easy 10 min walk (recommend daylight hours) via Ladies Bay to Port Arthur. This apparently is a strata title development hence terrific facilities for singles, couples and families alike. Stayed in #17, an older but still very comfortable 1 bedroom fully furnished... more

Property was lovely, quite new and cabins quite cozy, but spacious, and comfortable. Separate toilet and bath area. (Toilet in my cabin faced the walkway so you feel like you are sitting on a throne. HAHA! - Not in a bad way, though.) Quiet and peaceful, but you don't feel too isolated (not that creepy kind of feeling that you... more

We stayed for three nights in cabin 40 which was brand new. We have two children and the two bedroom , two bathroom cabin was perfect for us. We had breakfast and lunch on the deck overlooking the bushland and bay. Fabulous kitchen and entertainment unit / television plus our cabin was a short walk to the local (very small)... more

Beautiful cabins, roomy and well-spaced from everyone else. Lovely views or a gorgeous bay. The restaurant on site was excellent, with well priced and high quality food. Location-wise, it is virtually the driveway right next to the entrance to the Port Arthur historic site, so you couldnt get any better. We visited the site, came back for a rest with... more
