What a gorgeous place and what nice people. After a tortuous drive through from Hobart, Ormiston House was a lovely relaxing retreat. It's a great old house and very peaceful. After reading the positive reviews on Ormiston House I had fairly high expectations that it would be a beautifully restored grand historic house. We stayed for one night & overall it was OK, but not really the best value accomodation for what you get. Great stay and very accommodating. Carolyn makes you feel like you are apart of the family! The rooms are very comfortable and contain all the amenities you would normally have at home. My husband and I stayed at Ormiston House for 2 nights in April, 2006. We were greeted by the very friendly owner and shown to our room - the "Amelia Room".
