My partner and I were looking for somewhere a little indulgent to stay for four days while we took in the sights of Phillip Island. According to the website Abaleigh is extremely private and had all the little touches that makes a getaway romantic - all they talk about one the website is how many people have proposed there. All I can say is that we were not blown away by the romance at Abaleigh. Mainly it was the attitude of the hosts. It felt as though we were more of a nuisance than a guest in a $185 per night guest house. After a 2 hour drive from Melbourne we were about 10min out of cowes, at 5:05pm (we said we would be arriving at 5pm) when we get a mobile call from Abaleigh asking us if we were still intending to show up...
