Phillip Island is a popular weekend spot to escape Melbourne. Many tourists and locals come here for the many nature parks (koalas, etc) and to see the penguin parade. We stayed one night on Phillip Island, after seeing the penguin parade. On the island, we learned that most hotels or at bed and breakfasts are quite over priced. If you don't plan far in advanced during the peak season it may be hard to find a place at all. We choose this place since they had a room and it was located in Cowes, the largest town on the island. When we arrived, we found that this place wasn't in the town area and would have to drive everywhere. My husband also noticed that the house the bed and breakfast is in is nice, but the neighbor's house is quite run down.

Silverwaters charged around $150 AUD and i can definatley say that it wasn't worth the price. Maybe $100 maximum. For the price you get a small room on the third or first floor. the family lives on the second floor. There are no common... more
